In 1610 pottery factory ‘De Star’ started with the production of goblets, food jugs and small feed boxes. The foundation for the current Royal Goedewaagen formula was built then. In 1989 Royal Goedewaagen opened with pride the Ceramic Museum Goedewaagen. Here visitors get a good image of the current and past times of the former pottery factory from Gouda and her predecessors. In 2013 Royal Goedewaagen acquired Urnencentrum Nederland, established in Schoonhoven. The biggest supplier of handmade urns in the Netherlands. Another acquisition took place in 2016; the traditional tile manufacturer Albarello from Menaldum.
